CUTHBERT MOORE PRIMARY SCHOOL
ERDISTON PRIMARY SCHOOL
The Erdiston Primary School choir was first inaugurated to preform at the school's Investiture Ceremony. The present choir comprises nineteen (19) boys and thirty-five (35) girls between the ages of ten and eleven.
They perform at Assembly, school functions anf festive occasions. The choir director is Mr. Roger Worrell.
SHARON PRIMARY SCHOOL
WESTBURY PRIMARY SCHOOL
The Westbury Primary School choir comprises forty (40) members ranging in ages from nine to eleven (Class 2 to Class 4). The activities of the choir include caroling at christmas time to participating in cultural events across the island. Some of the activities the choir has been involved in are:

The choir is also involved in caroling during the Christmas season at several stores in Bridgetown and usually participates in Let's Sing For Christams - a radio broadcast sponsored by Starcom Network. They also participated in CBC's programme Time To Sing 2006.
The Choir is trained and directed by Mrs. Sandra Boyce, Music Teacher at the school.
ELLERSLE SECONDARY SCHOOL
The Ellerslie School choir comprises about 85 students between the ages of 11 and 16, drawn from all year levels in the school.
The choir has preformed extensively at various events on the cultural landscape of Barbados. Their preformances have also been taken to St. Vincent and St. Lucia where they performed ins chools and public places.
The Ellerslie School choir preforms regularly at NIFCA where they have gained both bronze and silver awards. They have also performed on board the Freewinds international as guest performers for the Caribbean Tourism Awards, and the Black Watch (cruiseliners). Additionally they have performed for the guest of the Queen Mary 2 on her maiden voyage to Barbados. Furthermore the choir has performed at a cultural presentation for the Run Barbados Series 2003, National Commonwealth Day Servoce, BMEX and for the Trimart/Mall Internationale sponsored choir competition 2004.
The choir is trained and accompanied by Mr. Lennox Boyce who is the Music teacher at the school.
THE GARRISON SCEONDARY SCHOOL
THE LODGE SCHOOL
The Lodge School Senior Vocal Ensemble was started in September 2006 under the direction of Ms. Mary-Ann Butcher. It is made up of students from the 5th and 6th form year levels of the Lodge School who, regardless of individual ability, experience or training, simply have a desire to sing.
The Vocal Ensemble's first performance was on the 25th September 2006 at the opening ceremony for the schools' Founder's week celebrations. At that time the ensemble, which only comprised of 12 members, song "Stand Up For Love" a song originally recorded by Destiny's Child. The performaces was well recieved and by the following week the ensemble's membership had more than doubled to about 30.
The Vocal Ensemble rehearses three times per week during their lunch hour and is currently building up a repetoire from the gospel inspirational pop and Broadway musical genres. |
